It was The Broad Stage where this cellist extraordinaire recorded the album Antonio Lysy at The Broad: Music from Argentina,
including the song that won the 2010 Latin Grammy for Best Classical
Contemporary Composition. Composed especially for Lysy by renowned
Argentina-born film composer Lalo Schifrin, Pampas
evokes the titular landscape and its people in a stirring spectacle of
music, dance and multi-media projections. Joining Lysy in this special
performance is LA's premier Capitol Ensemble, pianist Bryan Pezzone, and
featuring tango superstars Miriam Larici and Leonardo Barrionuevo.
Steeped in the musical heritage of the composer’s and musician’s
childhoods, you won’t want to miss out again on this passionate and
poetic concert experience.
This performance is sold out--but
please join us for a free master class with the artists on Monday, April
24, at 4pm!
Tango stars Miriam
Larici and Leonardo Barrionuevo will guide talented local and SMC dance
